Balayage can brighten the face, add movement, soften the grow-out, or break up an all-over shade. I look at your cut, density, natural level, and where the hair actually falls before deciding where the light belongs.

Hand-painted does not mean risk-free
Previous dark color, lightener, and home color can change what is possible. I check condition and porosity first. If the hair needs a gentler target or more than one session, I’ll say so.
Let’s be honest about upkeep
Contrast, tone, and your natural base determine how the color grows out. Some clients like regular glosses. Others want longer stretches between lightening appointments. Your maintenance comfort helps shape the technique.

Is balayage only for blondes?
No. It can bring dimension to brunette, red, and creative color too.
Will it grow out softly?
It often can. Placement, contrast, and your natural base decide how soft that grow-out will feel.
Can balayage cover gray?
Balayage and gray coverage do different jobs. Sometimes combining techniques makes sense, and sometimes another color approach is a better fit.
